Pastor Amy Kienzle

In August 2013 I arrived in Greenpoint via Long Island, Chicago and most recently Detroit. My first six years of ministry were at a church in the midst of the Arab community in Dearborn Heights. With the gifts I had developed and my passion for sharing my faith with others, I was excited about the opportunity to come home to NYC. Having not grown up in the church, I have a love/hate relationship with traditional churchy stuff. I love good worship and organ music, but am disheartened at the way the church has not made others feel welcome and valued. I am more comfortable with questions than with answers and believe that strong faith is a questioning faith. I have already met so many awesome people in Greenpoint, who are passionate about the arts and creating authentic community. And I am committed to leading the Greenpoint Lutheran Churches to be bridge builders and places where our neighbors feel welcome to come and explore life and faith in new and creative ways. I would love to meet you and get to know you, so feel free to contact me: 773-484-7750 (cell) or

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my dog Brooklyn, who loves going for walks around the neighborhood. There are so many more smells in the city than there are in the suburbs!

You might also find me at a bar or coffee shop with an intimate vibe and some live music or out on my bike. The city biking is new to me, but now that I have my lights and bell I am all set to go.
